Description: After decades of gradual shifts in payments, payment requirements, and regulations, the payment ecosystem has transitioned to a dynamic footing. New payment rails are online (e.g., FedNow, RTP), and underlying payment formats have changed (ISO 20022, pain), which impact both banks and corporates. Compliance requirements for originators have expanded from card and Swift to ACH, with requirements now on an annual cadence. At the same time, increasing sophistication and automation by criminals have resulted in greater losses for both larger and smaller businesses.
Many organizations have yet to fully recognize this new reality. Those responsible for payments must keep pace with accelerating developments. This fast-paced session will highlight major changes and shifts and provide a practical framework to help treasury teams stay current and respond effectively as the environment continues to evolve.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify major changes and shifts in payments, payment requirements, and regulations.
- Describe how treasury teams stay current with accelerating developments.
- Explain how treasury teams respond effectively as the payment ecosystem continues to evolve.
